Vayots Dzor is one of the most amazing marzes with breathtaking landscapes and gorgeous mountains, turbulent rivers and mysterious caves, narrow gorges and green valleys,  Alpine pastures and  tiny lakes. Vayits Dzor is famous for its honey, which is the best in Armenia. Vayots Dzor has many cultural-historical and natural sites.

Noravanq is one of the most  famous  sites and a must-visit place for all the tourists. Noravank means “New Monastery”, although the monastery  was built more than 7 Centuries ago. Noravank was built in the 13th century right at the edge of a gorge of the river Arpa.In the 17-18th centuries the monastery was surrounded by defensive walls behind which  the ruins of the chapel and a khchkar are still  preserved.  Today this impressive structure  is included  in UNESCO World Heritage list.
Another wonder of this region is Jermuk city, famous for its  thermal and mineral springs. The word Jermuk comes from the Armenian word “Jerm” meaning “warm”. The  temperature of the water  from hot geyser springs reaches up to +60oC and is rich in minerals, that is why it iw widely used in spa and recreation treatments. Numerous hotels, spa centers , sanatoriums are built close to these springs and welcome thousands of visitors from all of the world.
